Today was supposed to be a rest day, but felt good getting out of bed so I decided to run. Great run this morning. I think it helps that I haven’t really run since the RAGNAR. I set out to run 6.0 miles but when I ran by the middle school track, I decided I wanted to run a couple of 400’s to test my speed. Mind you it was 4.0 miles into the run that I ran the 400’s, but still I did a couple of back to back 1:30’s. Not too fast, and not too slow. I would like to see in a couple of weeks how I can do on fresh legs.

Great workout week. I feel like I am coming along well. I would like to start incorporating speed workouts into my program now as I feel my base is pretty solid at this point. I think I am going to hire a coach to help me plan my workouts for the next six months so I can peak at the right time for the St. George Ironman.

My pal Scott Davis also committed to riding LOTOJA with me in 2010. This is a real unique race that is over 200 miles and from Logan Utah to Jackson Hole Wyoming. It takes you up five mountain passes. Read up on the race here. Scott is one of my old college roommates that I have kept in touch with. He has a never say die attitude that I think will translate over well to the race.

So that means I will do Ironman St. George in May, RAGNAR in June, and LOTOJA in September. It should be an eventful 2010.
