12.30.09 — Swim

Type: Active Recovery Swim
Distance: 1000 yards
Time: I didn’t really count. No really…
Workout: Try and not redline at all…

I know it sounds different from all my other swim workouts, but with the head cold going away I really wanted to make sure I didn’t tax my body too much. A logical person would have skipped the workout. But what about the mindset of a triathlete don’t you understand? Of course I went to the pool tonight. But I am proud to say, I didn’t kill myself during the workout. I just cruised along, probably at about a 1:45/100 pace and counted off the laps. It got tedious to not have a drill or some piece of my form to focus on, but such was the deal I made with myself.

Thanks for all the feedback on the rant I had earlier. I guess I have gotten old and am tired of the tough guy (or gal for that matter) mindset. It is nice to get some feedback from you and see that most of you feel the same way I do.
