Armstrong vs. Lieto — The Results

The time trial is now final — Armstrong takes a 14 mile TT in :15. Yep, you read that right, a whole 15 seconds. The speeds these two athletes maintained during the effort were amazing. Armstrong averaged 39.1 mph and Lieto a little under than. There was wind and this is not necessarily on a super flat course. The engines behind those bikes are incredible and I think you have to give serious props to Chris Lieto for an amazing effort. He only gave up one of the best riders of all time about 1 second per mile. That is nothing. Over a 112 mile Ironman course, that translates into less that 2 minutes.

Way to go Chris!
