Flat out Kick Your Butt Motivation

Sunday is my rest day, so there is no workout to post. This week was a heavy one, so I am grateful for the rest day. My legs are feeling it. I am not sure why they are holding onto all of the residual soreness from that 5K, but it sure seems they are.

Ironman Motivation

There are lots of great inspirational videos out there on the net webs (man I love that phrase). I think there are some that are really well done, and some that aren’t. There are a few that will choke me up because I have been there and done some of the same things that the people in the video are doing. But I stumbled on one that will kick your butt out the door on the days you feel too tired, or too sore, or too hungry, or too slow…

For me the hardest part of any workout is the first swim stroke, pedal stroke, or step. Once I get on the road, it is rare that I don’t finish my workout. Watching this video, regardless of how exhausted you are from staying up late the night before, you will get out the door. It focuses on Ironman athletes, but it will work on runners and cyclists too, I promise.

So get out there and get in all your workouts this week. Forget the weather and work — don’t use them as an excuse. Put your plan together this week and work your plan. Pound the pavement and know that what you do this week will serve you in all of your races this summer. The human mind is an amazing tool — teach yours to push through the pain and difficulty.

And that people, is your Sunday Inspirational Moment with Mike…
