Type: Long Run
Distance: 6.0 miles
Average Pace: 8:05 min/mile
Average Heart Rate: 157 bpm
It sounds silly calling this a long run, but that is where I am in my training. The run was pretty uneventful and designed to just let me cruise along. I felt really solid after about 2.0 miles and thought my heart rate stayed down until about the 5.0 mile mark. For some reason it sort of spike up. I am not sure why — dehydration does not create a spike like that. I was watching the Tour de France DVD’s from 2006, and sort of got excited during one of the last stages I watched. I think I am stretching and grasping at straws here.
But that is not why you are here today.
Something in Your Stocking Contest Winners
Remember there were three possible winners. For each of the categories I put all of the entries into spreadsheets that also acted to assign a number to each of the entries. The total number of entries was higher than even I anticipated and I am very optimistic. Seriously people, you surprised even me.
If you are a new Follower, I really appreciate it. Know that in the next give -away and contest that I will also provide a free entry to Followers. Being a Follower of 26.2ismycooldown.com is beneficial on oh so many levels, this just being one. This iPod Shuffle was to be given to a Follower of course. There are 224 Followers, so I input 1 to 224 into the random number generator and this is what I got back:
The question is who was entrant number 94 in the Followers? It was Fair Weather Runner! Who is that you ask? I don’t know her real name because she doesn’t publish it. But, I have messaged her and hope she gets back to me soon about her winnings. She has been a Follower for a long time. Her long, hard work has finally been rewarded.
This iPod Shuffle was to be given away to someone who links this contest. There were three ways to get an entry for this iPod — on your blog, Facebook, or Twitter. There were some super cool links to the contest. You guys did a great job getting the word out on this one. There were a total of 174 links to the contest, which was really surprising. So I went through the same procedure — I input 1 to 174 into the random number generator and this is what I got back:
So who is the 126th entry? Why is was Stacie D. who blogs at Impossible is Nothing and does a fine job if I may say so myself. She did write on her blog that she was keeping her fingers crossed to win. Stacie, I guess it worked this time. Great work! I have emailed her and hope she gets back to me soon.
This was the easiest way to enter the contest and I was a little surprised at the number of people who did not take advantage of this one. To enter, all you had to do was comment on one of the posts on this blog. There were a total of 208 comments made between the time I posted the contest and last Friday at midnight. I input 1 to 208 into the random number generator and this is what I got back:
This iPod Shuffle was won by Darlene C. who runs the My First 5K blog. In reading her blog for a few moments this morning, you owe it to yourself to read up on what she does in her free time. She is mentoring a young single mother right now. I think that is super cool. She has been emailed and I hope she claims her prize.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this contest. It was really exciting and provided some excellent insight into the topics that I wrote about last week. I hope you will keep my blog on your regular reading list so we can all collaborate and provide knowledge to each other. I feel that way we can all get additional insight and kick some butt in 2011!
